Over Thanksgiving, my wife and I had the opportunity to go to Amsterdam, Holland, for a teacher convention about student travel. Short trip, but then I've never been overly interested in visiting a place known for marijuana use and prostitution. I was, however, pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the canals, the fabulous art galleries, and the kindness of the people. Here is one of many pictures I took of the houses that line the canals. Posted by Hello

Okay. Do they really think that the cyclists are going to ride their bikes on that bike path?  Posted by Hello

Even in the cold weather, the flower market is open for business. We bought some tulip bulbs for some friends and for ourselves...but will we plant them? That's the question. Posted by Hello

We must have walked up and down the canals for about four hours today. The restaurant was a welcome spot; not because of the food, but because we could sit down. Posted by Hello
