Summer

I'm in a workshop at school for this whole week of summer. Luckily, I get paid. Otherwise I wouldn't even be here. Some of this is interesting, though.

We talked yesterday about new ways to envision lessons. After taking the facts and the topics, to raise it up another level and discuss everything through a concept lens, such as freedom or conflicts or individuality. I think we sort of do this already, but it was nice to see a way to do this from a bottom up kind of thinking. I purposely made my table talk about the dystopian literature we use so we could make it useful for us.

Right now we're discussing the 21st century classroom and what it will look like. Technology, technology, technology. Isn't there something that can be done to get us more resources if they want us to use more technology? I still don't have an LCD (school-provided) or a SmartBoard. How can they expect us to get to the 21st century without any tools?

Now I'm basically blogging so I won't be bored. Also, there are these two women who can't shut up. They have been talking all day today and yesterday. Through everything. All the time. I am really getting iritated with them.
