The Way the Wind Blows in the fall of 2010

What I've been longing to have for the past 10 years has finally come true. I have an agent!! A real, live New York City agent! She works for Writer's House, which is a big deal. I'm super excited, but as I searched her client list and found out what they've published, I have to admit that I felt a bit outclassed. I hope she knows what she's gotten herself into by having me sign a contract with her :-)

So she's sending out a request to publishers this month. I'm keeping my hopes really high because I'm too naive not to. I have dreams of being picked up by Penguin or Simon and Schuster or something big like that.

I also told my agent that I have a bunch of other books. She requested to see the soccer one, DEFENSIVE. I'm going through the manuscript one last time before I send it to her. I don't want to shock her with its roughness...I'm a little nervous it won't be as "good" as the hockey book, though it is closer to my heart. I really love the characters in the soccer book so much. I just hope they come across the way I want them to. I don't think they fully do. One of my writer friends keeps saying how much he dislikes Gabe. I love Gabe. Who could hate Gabe?
